First Day Out

Well, I made it to the rig yesterday which in turn lead into today. It was awesome. We were rigging down the tools and logging unit which is tedious, but a necessity. I loved seeing the rig (shown above) operate. The guys on the floor let me watch and showed me the things that go on during operation. In the oil patch I have realiezed that many people are more than willing to help and teach you anything you want to know. In one of the most dangerous jobs in the world it is asways i key to be safe in the work place. This is why there is always safety briefings before comming on new pads. The first rig was a major experience.

During are ride to and from the rig I got to see some amazing wildlife. I saw musk ox, artic fox, and many species of birds. The one great thing about up here is the amazing wildlife. The roads however there is a little to be desired.

So, at 3 am I was still at the rig and I just want people to know what it looks like here in the summer on the north slope at 3 am.
