The Start

So, lets start with a brief overview. I am Dane Clark, a junior Mechanical Engineering Technology major at Penn State Erie. I acquired this internship during a job fair where I met my recruiter James Isbister. Over the next few months I went through an interview process that was both fun and challenging. I worked hard and was offered a position for a summer internship as a Field Specialist. Over the last month of school it was full of filling out paperwork and waiting to hear where James would be sending me for the summer. Well, I found out I would be going to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Then I went to OFS-1 which was the introduction training for all new employees. There we learned about the different sides of the company and we were outfitted with computers and online resources. It was there, in Huston, that we learned about Schlumberger training and all the benefits you receive as an employee. After Huston we headed to Tulsa for LVT or light vehicle training. There we learned how to drive all over again. Which was really cool and I learned alot. So now that you are briefly caught up. I am now in Alaska and getting ready to start the working portion of my internship. From here on out I will be updating my blog as much as I can. Posting pictures and answer any questions you may have. I leave for the Bay in 2 days and it is going to be awesome. talk to you soon.

  1. Hi Dane. It is interesting to read, get to know the story of your career journey and also how fun it is as it sounds. I just recieved an email from the same recruiter that you had regarding the internship opportunity. He sounds so excited in that email and also had introduced himself. I am talking about the very same Mr. James. So I am kind of nervous right now that makes me to Google something about him and I found this! Is there any helpful hints or advices that you would like to share with me in general? Prior to meeting him next week!

I would be delighted if you could answer me through my email rashid.ramali@gmail.com. Much appreciated!
